Discover the friendliest group and enjoy visiting one of the most beautiful and unspoiled National Parks near the city, located on one of the most important afluent of the Canal Watershed, the Chagres River.
After being picked up from your hotel, you will be driven by car for approximately 1 hour, then you will be transported by canoe to one of the indigenous communities located within the Park. Upon arrival at the village, you will be taken back in time as you are immersed in the ancient Embera cultural dances and music that have not changed much since Columbus arrived in the 16th century.
We will enjoy a historical talk about the Embera culture, their dances and traditional folkloric music and an exhibition of typical handicrafts: baskets made of natural fibers of chunga and nagua palm, the pieces carved in Cocobolo or tagua wood.
Embera women are known as some of the best basket makers in the world, and you can watch them create these beautiful objects made from palm leaves and dyed with natural dyes. You can also paint your body with the natural fruit called Jagua, used by the Indians for body decorations as well as for its healthful properties.
Before returning to civilization, the Emberá will offer us a typical traditional lunch served in banana leaves, consisting of fried fish and plantain and if you want you can buy some of their handicrafts.
